Chalk & Math is a math game for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. We built it so that it does not need to know anything about your child. This policy explains that in plain English.

The short version

• Chalk & Math does not collect, send, sell or share any personal information.
• There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. On the Apple App Store and Google Play there is one optional in-app purchase ("Unlock All Practice"), which is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
• The game works completely offline.
• The only thing it remembers (the stars your child earns, a few counters and settings) is saved on your own device and never leaves it.

What the app stores on your device

Chalk & Math saves a very small progress file in the app's private storage on your device (using the standard Unity "PlayerPrefs" feature). It contains:

• the number of stars earned in each math topic and Money Math level, and best scores,
• how many answers were right in total and the best answer streak,
• whether sound is on or off, and the chosen speed (Relaxed, Normal or Quick),
• which topics have free practice on this device, and whether the unlock was bought.

This file is only used to show your child's stars and settings the next time they play. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it. The finger drawings made on the Scratch Pad and the Doodle Board are not saved at all: they disappear when the screen is closed.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, ages, birthdays, photos, voice recordings, contacts, precise or approximate location, device advertising identifiers, or any other personal information. The app does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.

Third parties and SDKs

Chalk & Math is built with the Unity game engine. The game contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service and no social login. The Apple and Google versions include Unity In-App Purchasing, which only passes the one unlock purchase to the App Store or Google Play; payment details go to Apple or Google, never to us, and the game itself sends no information anywhere. The game does not link out to websites.

If you download the app or buy the unlock from the Apple App Store, Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, that store processes the payment and may collect its own information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive personal or payment information from the stores. Whether the unlock was bought is remembered only on your device.

Children's privacy (COPPA, GDPR-K and similar laws)

Chalk & Math is designed for children, including children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing to get parental consent for, and nothing about a child is shared. The game has no chat, no user-generated content that is shared and no links out of the app, so children cannot be contacted, tracked or sent to other sites through it. The only purchase is behind a parents-only question, and children never see a price.

Data retention and deletion

Because everything stays on the device, you are in control:

• To erase the saved stars and settings, uninstall the app, or clear the app's storage (Android: Settings > Apps > Chalk & Math > Storage > Clear data).
• We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server.

Security

Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, the main protection is that your child's progress never leaves the device. We keep the app up to date through the app stores.

International users

We do not transfer any personal data, so no cross-border transfer takes place. Residents of the EU/UK, California and other regions with privacy rights can contact us at the address below to ask any question; we will confirm that we hold no personal data about them.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy (for example if we add an online feature), we will update this policy and the stores' privacy information before the change is released, and the "Effective date" above will change.
